About Scouts

Fun

You can join Scouts as soon as you are ten years old, although most young people start at around ten and a half. You can stay at Scouts until you are fourteen at which point you are old enough to move on to Explorer Scouts.

This Term's Program

There is a parent helper rota.

We also need helpers and leaders so if you are over 18 and interested in getting involved in Scouting contact us!

Scouts meet on Thursday nights from 7:30pm until 9pm.

If you are interested in joining, please contact us.

AT BRICKHILL THERE IS A WAITING LIST.
IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WHO IS INTERESTED IN JOINING SCOUTS.
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS 10 1/2  BEFORE CONTACTING US
OR THEY MAY BE DISAPPOINTED.

What do Scouts do?

FunAt Scouts, you will be encouraged to take part in activities that you might not otherwise get a chance to do.

We like to do some adventurous activities like climbing, abseiling and sailing as well as hiking or just exploring our local area.

We also like to try our hand at lots of different activities at our weekly meetings including cooking, pioneering (that’s building things with ropes and poles!) or even simply playing games on the field.

During your time at Scouts you will be encouraged to earn the Challenge Awards and Activity Badges. Some in regular meetings others you can achieve outside meetings.

One of the best parts of scouting is going on camp.
This is usually for the weekend.

Camping gives you a chance to sleep under canvas in the summer or at an activity centre when it gets a bit too cold to stay outdoors!

Scouting is about being with friends, being part of a team and participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.
